This is a refreshing take on a theme that’s been done a bunch, rendered in a way we haven’t seen too often, and backed by enough winnings to keep anyone happy with it. Lacking a bunch of fancy features in an attempt to make the fancy graphics shine, this is a familiar game that’s meant to be sunk into like a good book whose ending you already know but still can’t help but bring yourself to read time and again. It works on many levels for that reason, and can draw you in before you even realize you’re addicted!
Like most of the games by Microgaming, this one is pretty barebones, but focused entirely on rapid fire spinning sessions, which more than makes up for that. This game is entirely fashioned after the Wizard of Oz, only in a new way that feels somewhat fresh, energy, and innovative. This isn’t your grandmothers Wizard of Oz, but rather a more daring version of it that takes inspiration from films like the Narnia series, as well as just a bit of hot topic in the design of the lead character. We’re actually not quite sure where he fits into any of this, but he is fresh and inventive, so we’re not complaining!
Things We Liked the Most
We definitely enjoy the art style of this game the most. It stands above and beyond most of the other games that you will see, and leaves quite a lasting impression. We usually hate suits of cards, but this game did such a good job with them that we can’t help but smile looking at them. Everything is heavily stylized and enjoyable. After that, we love the tightly focused gameplay, which had us playing for a lot longer than we had anticipated because of how easy it is to get into, and the ever increasing desire to make just one more spin!
Things We Didn’t Much Care For
We definitely did not care for the fact this game lacks a progressive jackpot. There really isn’t anything about this game to build up to, which is one of our favorite features of online casino games. The respin feature is a nice touch, however, but it can’t make up for that glaring fact. Other than that, and there’s not much to complain about!
The Overall Presentation in the Game
They did a wonderful job here, and it all looks good enough to be part of its own rendition of the Wizard of Oz. We’re not quite sure where they got the inspiration for it, but this is a very stylized, teenage, emotional take on that genre. It reminds us quite a bit of the Chronicles of Narnia, which is not a bad thing, as those were very pretty films! It is strange as to how much green there is here, but everything else perfectly balances it out, so it never feels off kilter.

The game play here is pretty good, largely thanks to the respin feature keeping things fresh and innovative. We initially thought the art style was going to be a little overbearing, so we expected to get in and out of this one fairly quickly without spending any more time with it then we had to.
